NYUK Hunter with synthetic ivory handles and carbon fiber pins. Since the use of real ivory is not something I will be a part of I scoured all the sources I could to find an alternate material that would look and feel just like real ivory. I found a company in Germany who produces some of the best synthetic ivory around. I talked with many other makers and this product is almost indistinguishable from the real thing.

This Elforyn was a joy to work with and once attached, sanded, and polished it is smooth as glass. Now this may not be desirable for using out in the field but just to feel it in your hands is wonderful.

The blade has been hand sanded to 1000 grit and then etched 3 times in ferric chloride. This will provide some rust protection but because this is still a high carbon steel the blade will still need to be rubbed with oil or some other protectant.

Here are the specs for this blade:

Blade material: 80CRV2
Total length: 11.5"
Blade length: 6"
Handle length: 5.5"
Blade thickness: 3/16"
Handle material: Super Tusk by Elforyn
Pins: Carbon Fiber
Sheath: 8/9 oz. Hermann Oak Leather with black tiger thread
Edge bevel: 19 dps
