The Craftsman Behind Nalley Leather
It all started with a backpack that couldn't keep up.
Years ago, while working on a telecommunications project in Caracas, Venezuela, I went through two backpacks in just three months. I needed something that could handle the demands of our site visits, but couldn't find anything that suited my needs.
So I bought some leather, a few basic tools, and decided to make my own.
That first backpack sparked an interest in leatherworking that never really went away.
Over the next several years, I made pieces for myself, family, and friends. Around 2008, I began taking the craft more seriously, learning new techniques, refining my stitching, and challenging myself with increasingly complex projects.
Since then, I've created everything from wallets and handbags to specialized, one-of-a-kind pieces for customers who couldn't find exactly what they wanted elsewhere.
My philosophy is simple: If it can be made from leather, there's a good chance I can make it.
