NYUK Camp Chopper with Curly Maple scales
Here is a beautiful camp chopper designed to complete even the most difficult tasks at your campsite. Heavier than most choppers of it’s size this blade is of full tang construction and is made from 1/4” 1084 high carbon steel. The blade was also clay quenched to bring out a very unique hamon. The bevels have been ground on what I call a 3/4 grind where they go up just short of 1/4 of the spine. This helps add weight and heft behind every blow of the blade. But also due to it’s wide blade construction it can also be used to slice any meat and or veggies you brought to camp. This really is a do-all blade. The sheath is a stacked sheath and has both a belt loop on the back and a snap loop to hold the blade. Here are the dimensions:
Total weight of blade: 1 lb. 14.8 oz.
Total blade length: 16 1/2”
Blade length: 11 3/8”
Blade width: 2 3/8”
Blade thickness (at spine): 1/4”
Blade material: 1084 high carbon steel
Handle material: Stabilized Curly Maple with brass liners
Pin material: 3/16” solid brass
Sheath: stacked leather dyed light brown
Stitching: 1.0 brown tiger thread
